Trip Report, Beachcomber - Mauritius

May 28th 2019

In May of 2019 John was hosted by Beachcomber Tours for a week on the island paradise of Mauritius.

First up on his fantastic Beachcomber educational was a one night stay at the amazing 4* Shandrani property. Located in the unspoilt South region of Mauritius, it is Premium All Inclusive from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart. The hardest decision to make is which of the 3 beaches to choose for your sunbathing! This resort is suitable for couples and families with incredible facilities and superb fine dining.

John’s second day in Mauritius started by heading North to the 4* Mauricia Beachcomber Resort & Spa for a site inspection and lunch. Perfect for adults or families looking for good value and a great location, within walking distance of the lively village of Grand Baie, one of Mauritius’ main tourist hubs, thus providing guests with a choice of restaurants, bars, clubs and boutiques. An added bonus of this property’s location is it proximity to its sister hotels of Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa and Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa, where you are able to use your half board or all-inclusive meal plans.

John stayed the night at the 4* Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa, located on an historic peninsula, which gives commanding views over the sparkling Indian Ocean and northern islands. The lush tropical gardens, cascading pools and secluded creeks bring an authentic and relaxed Mauritian atmosphere. Being one of the best family resorts in Mauritius, children are looked after by the large Kids Club but there is plenty for adults to do too.

The following morning John visited a member of 'The Leading Hotels of the World" The Royal Palm Beachcomber, which is undeniably the finest hotel in Mauritius. Located on the sheltered north-west coast, stretching along pure white sandy beaches, it is the ultimate in Five-star luxury with a chilled relaxed vibe. John was lucky to be invited for lunch at their Le Bar Plage with amazing views and food.

John’s afternoon was spent visiting the 4* Victoria Beachcomber Resort and Spa and it was his favourite property of the trip. It has amazing facilities for families and adults and is conveniently situated between the tourist hub of Grand Baie and the capital city Port Louis. This is one of the most popular family resorts in Mauritius. For adults, it is well worth the upgrade to the brand-new adults only Victoria for 2, with its 17 swim-up rooms.

After a long day of site inspections, John stayed at the romantic 5* Trou Aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. A stunning hotel located on one of the best lagoon beaches on the island with everything couples and families could wish for. Its location on the North-West coast ensures some of the best climates and the most dramatic sunsets the island can offer, creating the ultimate romantic atmosphere, perfect for weddings or honeymoons.

Mauritius is the perfect place if you love the beach, but as beautiful as the beaches and hotels are, there is also plenty to do if you want a more active holiday. John spent a day at the Casela World of Adventure doing a quad bike safari but if you don't fancy that there are plenty more activities, including diving & snorkeling, on offer. There are plenty of activities for couples, as well as for the family in Mauritius.

Moving from the romantic setting of Trou aux Biches, John stayed 2 nights at the elegant 5* Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa - a haven of peace and tranquillity. Tropical elegance is the theme, with cascading pools surrounded by bright flowers, spacious wooden decks and terraces designed with sea views. There is also a payable option of the adults only zen suites and with the spectacular La Morne mountain behind you and the beach in front.

John’s last hotel visit was to the 5* Paradis Beachcomber, the ultimate leisure resort. Located on the same beach as her sister hotel Dinarobin, it has a busier vibe, and is perfect for families and couples with the bonus of being able to use the restaurants at nearby hotel Dinarobin.

This was one of John’s favourite trips. It was an amazing experience being able to view the beautiful Beachcomber hotels and the island of Mauritius. These properties exude luxury and are perfect for couples and families alike.
